The USA had a "rather civil" civil war from 1968 to 1972. A few buildings were bombed, a few protestes shot and killed and 100s of thousands took to the streets. Nixon's Vietnam War policy was the issue. Nixon lost in the end ...

The USA had race riots from 1965 to 1970 (a I recall) nationwide -- 100s died and much property was destroyed. There have been sporadic race riots in this county since 1865.

Very true - I remember being let out of school the day the riots started in Wash. DC...seeing the city on fire..and walking home past National Guard every 10 feet along the main road. I also remember the machine gun nest set up on the Capital Building steps :thumbsup

In the American Civil war brothers and cousins fought in both the Union and Confederate armies shooting at each other. In civil insurrection you end up with destruction like we see in Syria. Foreign forces taking sides. The Spanish Civil war is a good example.
