Tech Amazon starting an Automated Grocery Store

Interesting to see how this will work. I heard they are already being used and tested by Amazon employees.

A glimpse to the future. I think it's awesome!

Cashiers are the second largest job force in America. I wonder if they will have lower prices at the Amazon stores due to less employees needed.

I had this idea 12 years ago when I was forced to start buying my own groceries. Everyone just laughed and called me lazy & crazy. Bastards. I was ahead of my time...

Price will probably rise to pay for all the software programmers and data entry for
          new products.

Plus lawsuits when people want to return spoiled meat and nobody is there to say it's spoiled.

Also a new crime wave of "grocery jacking" from hacked phones.

Damn Amazon sure does come out with some amazing things. Awesome to see them grow beyond what their initial focus was.

I wonder how exploitable this would be? Free groceries via hacking the system?

But do we really expect it to be more successful than Walmart's self checkout station?

Both systems require you to bag your items and what about loose items sold by weight,
                  like fruit and vegetables?
I guess all fruit and vegetables will be in fixed price packages; but that's a drawback in shopping.
I want 1/2 pound of grapes, not a two pound bag.
I want one tomato, one potato and one onion, so is the price the same or is each item
                  pre-weighed and tagged?
