This is very scary. Fake news is becoming a huge thing.

This weekend on Facebook one of my local friends - an older man - posted a link to an article about how "adults shouldn't take ibuprofen". The article talks about how "all of the doctors" are telling their patients not to take ibuprofen. The article didn't name any specific doctors or hospitals, and didn't give any real reasons why someone shouldn't take ibuprofen. Half way through the article they start to talk about some kind of alternative medicine. Of course, at the end of the article there was links to buy this alternative medicine.

All of his friends were all over it - OMG ibuprofen is suddenly bad for us, all of these doctors are telling us this, and we should try this alternative medicine. His wife was all into it, and a few other people were believing it. It was just amazing how they all accepted this article as absolute fact without any evidence at all. It wasn't a medical site, or even a news site, it was just a blog with some random stuff on it.

This is becoming more and more common. It's just amazing how people read something on social media, accept it as fact, and then re-post it without verifying it.

Fake news is indeed a problem.

For 18 months the world media stated that Trump had no chance in hell of winning. This created a false sense of security for Democrats and Clinton supporters, leading to a highly controversial and possibly contested final presidential election.

Had the news reported truths, we would have a different president elect.

There is a difference between the news reporters being wrong and someone just making something up.

how can a fact have a bias? Either somebody said something - or not. It's not their fault that the most untrue statements come from the right wing spectrum.

I think that racism, cultural nazism on all sides - including muslim one- is one of the biggest problems that people will face soon...either we will wise up or let the others get rich on our suffering and blind hate..

Yes, for decades both sides have been using facebook's easy sharing features among the uneducated masses. And - Why would claiming a born rich white man is a racist be "insane". You can argue whether it is valid or not but "Insane" Odd thought process.

I seriously don't even understand what you are trying to say. So Tim Allen (barely remember him, because he is Tim Allen) said he wanted to make some jokes and he couldn't because he set rules to himself that all his jokes are factual? I am seriously lost.
