Yes at Thanksgiving, but normally Christmas dinner for me is at a friend's house where a bunch of us get together and they cook a prime rib.

We always had a big leg of lamb at Christmas and we all liked it slow cooked and tender - Every fucking year we would get drunk and fall asleep and we would wake up to cremated lamb - I swear it must have happened 10 times...

At that point it becomes tradition.

For Thanksgiving we do turkey, but for Christmas... We do lasagna.

My wife's family is very Italian and my god they love their food. Making the lasagna is a three day family event. Everything is made by hand - the sauce, the meatballs, the pasta... It was odd at first but now I cannot imagine Christmas without lasagna.

US people eat turkey for Thanksgiving for the reason that it is a bird native to the USA.

Christmas dinner is ham, turkey, duck, mutton (lamb) or prime rib ... or whatever you like. Davy Crockett probably ate bear

Turkey and/or Ham is what most in the US have for Thanksgiving. The same for Christmas. However Christmas is more diverse and lots of people do BBQ ribs, chicken, duck, or whatever they prefer to have at a family feast type of meal.

Turkey is traditional but it takes way too long to cook and isn't generally anyone's favorite which is why it's really only eaten on those two holidays(The entire bird). Personally in my circle I'm finding that most of us have cut Turkey off the menu entirely and just do ham.

Same here. People I know do ham, steak or rack of ribs nowadays. It takes a long time, and a lot of attention, to cook a turkey and too many things can go wrong with a turkey where it's undercooked or too dry.
