    Alexa big drop with no reason

    So a weird and annoying thing,my Alexa rank was 5m,then suddenly in 24 hours went to 7.3m and 2 days after (now) went to 11.4m.

    What the heck is going on? My traffic didnt change these days,in fact it was increased!

    The only thing that i changed in the website,is that i added porn videos with iframe. Is that a reason? i dont think so,right?

          which such low rankings it means you have low traffic. so 1-2 people with a alexa toolbar will effect your stats a lot.
          so if you lost 1 regular visitor with an alexa toolbar this happens

              It's quite normal but why do you care about Alexa? As you can see it's not accurate.

              Better care about your traffic or even better about $$$ in your bank account

                  Alexa rank is not anaccurate tool, you should look instead how many visits you get.

                      I doubt that the reason is that i lost 1-2 alexa visitors,i never had this problem before with other websites,to me this seems something like a penalty and i dont know the reason. Instead of the ranking going up with the traffic raise,it started going downhill.

                      And i know Alexa isnt accurate,but still i dont like to have wrong ranking there.

                          alexa is just a indication, why care if its accurate or not?

                          but to answer your point, i doubt alexa has penalties, because when i work on new site it often shoots up from 1mil to 70k alexa (because i have the toolbar)

                          Lets say you deserve 50k alexa, and it shows 1mil, that would be anoying.
                          but anything above 200k alexa is basicly the same anyways

                              Well do like I do don't care about it ! I didn't check my sites alexa rank in years , I care more about how much traffic I get ! Just my two cents !

                                  Yeah ok,its just that some people check the ranking,for trades,hardlinks etc. Maybe not in here,but out there a lot of people do that.

                                  And it sucks when you work to improve both the traffic and the ranking and suddenly your ranking is like you get 40 or even less visitors per day.

                                  Maybe i need to try their membership so i can be able to contact them and ask them about it,i dont know.

                                      Probably a glitch. I'm sure you'll bounce back. Alexa isn't accurate anyway.

                                          That's very low rank anyway so it might not be reflecting the reality as it should. If traffic is same then there is nothing to worry unless you're planning to sell the website and such ranks have a meaning for potential buyers.
