They were trying to conduct an investigation on someone corrupt to the core, who is running for president. The establishment obviously stopped them from doing their job. Been there, done that. Not sure if you were paying attention but the FBI just closed (again) an investigation into these email and could not even recommend prosecution.
By the way, the FBI investigated this and found no reason to recommend prosecution.
The FBI, big federal agency also investigated and did not recommend an indictment.
