I've been watching a show called Pitch which is a story about a woman who becomes the first female to play Major League Baseball. It's light, and is potentially a fantasy story, but I like baseball so I have been enjoying it as a guilty pleasure of sorts not to mention the girl that they got to play the female lead it gorgeous.

I bet it is as acceptable to feminist, libbies and similar types for a woman to play in mens' league as it is for a man to play in a womens'.

There isn't a lot of motivation for guys to go in the other direction and join a female league because of the money. The average NBA player makes $4.6 million dollars per year. The average WNBA player makes about $70K. There are a lot of jobs out there a guy could get that pay about that much without the embarrassment of being "that" guy.

No embarrassment if leagues were mixed, as Eddy suggested. Than it would be "league1" and "league2". WNBA was a misleading example.

I said a mixed league, the NBA - If you have to have single sex leagues that's OK - I am saying that only the best get in to the NBA - If no women cut it then no women it is...

If all leagues were "mixed" they would likely look a lot like they do today. The biggest leagues say "league1" would be all men with maybe a female in a smaller role, for example in the NFL they might have a female kicker. League2 might be a little more mixed, but it would still be like things are today in that few people would watch it. In the US football is the #1 sport by a long ways, yet very few people follow arena football or any other non-NFL pro leagues.

I used the plural because I was referring to all sports...

I was proposing that the mainstream leagues with the real money should be open to the best - Whoever they are.....
