Can someone write here please what is so special about this product? I am not saying that it's not good - but I'm just curious.
To be honest - nothing. It has no super-duper CPU power or outstanding video system. The people are ready to pay for "sexy" design but not for computing power.

It's clearly marketed for artists and designers. Not engineers and gamers.
I mean it wasnt shot in a Russian grocery market with superior lighting, but it's still illuminated enough to see what it does.
Also for clothes designers, makeup artists and stylists
P.S. Don't artists and designers need powerful computers? Sell them Commodore64 then. Maybe this sort of people is looking for a well-designed makeup mirror which fits best their sexy-pinky interiors? Why put a CPU inside?

Did you watch the video?

One of the reasons why people like Mac's because of the design. IMacs are sleek, thin, quiet, elegant, and are mostly wireless. PC's are faster, but are ugly clunky noisy boxes with bowls of spaghetti for wires.
The unit itself is sexy, that round gadget that is sensed by the touch screen is sexy, and the video itself is sexy. I like Apple products, and usually dismiss Microsoft products except for what I really need, but this really caught my attention. It looks like great marketing for a great product to me.

Nice looking but still runs on Windows
I know..! OS/X is so much better than Windows. Who knows though - Maybe Apple will see this as a kick in the ass and produce something ultra-sleek like this soon too.

That is the beauty of computers though. This might be aiming for artists and designers, but it can be used by anyone. My main PC is an Alienware Aurora R4 which is really a gaming PC but.... It's a PC and it can do anything. I do video rendering on it.

That's why I wonder why that people don't buy makeup mirrors instead. They look better, they are cheaper and (the most important ) they will fit the daily needs of those stylish pinky-boys IMHO.
As about me, so I buy computers to use them for work, but not as a decoration of the interior.
Looks fucking awesome and that color wheel thing looks bad ass. With that said, I love my Surface Pro 3 and IMO it's size is better for art work. No matter how much they try, a stylus isn't the same as a pen and drawing across such a large screen like this is a bit of a pita.
Still a awesome looking machine, but I sort of like having something I can lay flat to draw on.
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.
So glad I sold my Mac and went back to Windows. Hated using it.
I have been waiting for the new MacBook Pro but just discovered that both Dell and HP have sick laptop workstations with ridiculous spec options. HP makes very nice laptops, will probably land on that.

Apple is too greedy. They don't want to sell you a machine that can do everything, they want you to have to buy a tablet and a laptop.
Apple could have owned it had they put the regular OS on their tablets so you could run things like Photoshop. Instead they saw $$ in selling apps vs making something actually useful.

I love my iMac and I love my iPhone but not a fan boi by any means. They may have retarded amounts of cash, but nothing exciting has come along sense Steve died. Tim is running it like any old business and bringing in longtail money from the customers Steve got with innovative products. It's going to end at some point. Soon, if they keep screwing around with ideas that have no real connection with what their core once was: cars, etc.
This new Microsoft CEO just may have reignited the competition flame. I have a Microsoft store and an Apple store right next to my place. The Apple Store is always crowded of course, Microsoft not so much, but the Microsoft store is actually really fun to go in and just hang out. They have games set up, virtual reality, they teach classes, many employees available to answer questions.

?We?ve done tons of user testing on this, and it turns out it doesn?t work. Touch surfaces don?t want to be vertical.
It gives great demo but after a short period of time, you start to fatigue and after an extended period of time, your arm wants to fall off. it doesn?t work, it?s ergonomically terrible.
Touch surfaces want to be horizontal, hence pads.?
