Value of TGPs?

What do you think is a good value to place on TGPs (for selling them). I'm looking to possibly but, not sell.

What about daily unq/10?

This is completely off the top of my head, but do you guys think it's too high? too low?

This would mean a TGP with 10,000 daily hits would sell for $1000
50,000 hits $5000
etc.

I know many people will say "50,000 hits is worth more than $5000!!!", but the truth is not many people really spend more than a few bucks for sites and that most of the tgp traffic not stable traffic, it's mostly trade traffic. 50,000 type-ins or SE hits would obviously be worth more than $5000 but what about general TGP traffic.

I think you are way off for todays market. Take your numbers and cut them by 80% then you will have a more realistic value for a tgp.

So you're saying $5000 for a tgp doing 50k/day steady is way too much?

I think it all depends on the how much income the site generates.

I was offered more than $5k on a tgp that only gets around 10-12k/day but it generated the income to validate a $5k+ price.

And my stats were picked apart and dissected by the potential buyers before they made offers so be prepared for that.

I'd buy a site that had 50,000 bookmarks/day in a SECOND for $5k - but one of these UJC traded sites isn't worth much as one can build a 50K site with traded CJ traffic in a couple of days.

Again, I'M NOT LOOKING TO SELL

And like I said, I know there are some fluxuations in traffic sources which effects the value, but no site is 100% bookmarks and very few sites, unless they are very new are 100% CJ without any good solid large trades.

Just wondering where an average # falls.

ask for proof of monthly income for past 3 months and avg it up. Now multiply that number by 1.7

Theres your price quote.

Doesnt matter what the traffic is, i can build a 100k site that wont make a dime, or a 20k site making $1k a month

gotta see stats bud.

Theres other options.

For example id build you a new one up to like 100k - 200k avg per day, for maybe $1,500

You build me a tgp that maintains a steady 150k/day and I'll pay you double your asking price of $1500

I think a lot of factors influence the price of TGP's. Ie. SE traffic, type ins, trades etc...

I think Lensman once said, a site is worth what it makes in 3 months. I think that is a fair estimation.

God knows I have seen a lot of TGP's go completely to shit after the new owner having control for 3 months.

You value a site the same way you value a stock, PE ratio. Price divided by earnings.

If that were the case I'd be buying sites left and right. Ultimately the site is worth what the owner would let it go for.

I hear that absolut-series.com sold for 75k when he was easily clearing 15k a month. 5 months and it's paid for and the guy who bought take pure profit for the rest of the year. He then has the other 7 months to make 105k profit for the year. More than doubling his money in the first year! That doesn't include the 180k he'll make for the rest of the time.

absolut-series got ripped and obviously didn't know what his site was worth.

I wouldn't sell my sites for anything less than what it makes in a year. Even then I wouldn't.

But you have to remember Shaggy when someone buys a site they might not know how to run it as well and make the same amount of income from it.

Just because I know how to make $XXX a month from my site doesn't mean you will know how to make the same.

Hence how do you put a dollar figure on a site when you cannot 100% guarantee that you will have all the same factors in place that the previous owner did. Ie. trades, traffic etc...

where have you heared that numbers?? Don't matter they don't match.
And you've forgotten that absolut-series dropped from 600k to a lil bit over 200k ST uniques after that in 12 month. Therefore it made only 1/3 of your fictive $15k. Now with the StarTGP feeder things look somehow different again. But the site doesn't have the 200k+ bookmarkers anymore.
