Hi GreenGuy,

hmm, all those sponsors. You must get like 300 checks a month. I was wondering how many people help you run link-o-rama?

I wanna see what the real greenguy looks like, is your pic posted anywhere? :)

Heres a new idea... Instead of the same ole' adult webmaster resource site with message boards and sponsor links, I'd like to see a webmaster community (greenguyandjim.com) that post "popular webmaster's" pictures, with their permission of course. I wanna see what thehun, richards-realm, mmm100, pornno, sublime crew, all look like.

greenguy 04-04-2003 07:05 AM

adamneve - I'll sign up for the program, but without a webmaster referral program, I can't put you in the stats :(

SomeCreep - I currently have 4 reviewers & myself working the admin on the Link O'Rama - I could probably get away with myself & 2 others, but I like to get the reviews done early in the day & I know my reviewers have other things to do as well, so they only have to work a few hours a day on my site &then they can do their own thing :)
Also - about the pictures - I think hahahahahahaha/Condom did that back in the day - LOL - but that is a very cool idea :)

I was about to post the same thing.

(plus, if I included clicks, then my income would be right out there for everyone with a calculator to see)

Still if your going to run a site like this and expect people to accept it as worthwhile data, shouldnt you send a minimum level of clicks to each candidate? Like 500 clicks, or 1000 clicks if you liked them.

Makes more sense.

Lol why are a lot of ppl complaining? I think it's a good list, although you can't really compare. But that list is made in first place for webmasters who wanted to know about the programs and conversion he got(correct me when wrong)

But I agree the list isn't 100% accurate, but I think it gives a nice indication....

greenguy 04-04-2003 08:50 AM

goBigtime - like I said up top:
"I can say that a majority of the sites - around 90% were sent less then 1000 hits."
If you want me to be more specific:
80% were sent less than 500 hits
60% were sent less then 250 hits
Most of the traffic comes from link-o-rama.com & all the paysites are clearly marked as being "pay sites" so the surfer pretty much knows what they are getting into before they leave my site.

Plat - I'll put you on my list for the next time I go on a program sign-up spree :)

Andre - thanks :) I know it's not 100% accurate & of course, the only way for a list like that to be 100% accurate would be for me to take all the sponsors stats based on all their webmasters & make one big huge list - LOL Of course, I doubt any sponsor program would give someone all that info :)

but you should already have a good portion of those stats as part of your RevStats program I would think. Enough to aggregate it all and generate some average ratios based on a much larger number of clicks.

I realize quality of traffic would fluctuate a lot when including many different webmasters, but still, if you have enough webmasters using RevStats it should all balance out to a more accurate set of numbers.

Damn. I don't think I'll ever pay "per signup". Recurring rev just seems to make more sense to me than anything. Is there a particular reason that you like "per signup" better?

Thanks for being an affiliate. I appreciate it.

"Big Girls" ?

Ian 04-04-2003 09:25 AM

Greenguy, you might like some of these: 60% recurring plus a webmaster referral program. :)

goBigtime - I don't own RevStats, so I don't have access to that info. But, you did give me the idea of doing a special stats run 3 or 4 times a year using al the totals that are in my revstats accounts. Now THAT would be damn near accurate.

DonovanPhillips - it's not that I like per sign up better than recurring, just that for the stats pages, per signup looks better :)

sarah_webinc - yes, I am a BBW fan :)

(thats what i heard)

I brought this up on another message board a while ago, and GreenGuy stated the same, and I believe him, there's no reason not to. Though I do believe affiliate programs would be very tempted to inflate someone's stats that are well-known in the industry, and also who is known to publish their stats as well.

Optimistic view, none of them do it, so they are even.

Pessimistic view, all of them do it, so they are even. :1orglaugh

Mind you, there are honest people in the world who wouldn't do that, so in all likelihood they aren't even.

Cheers,
Matt

If I owned a PPS I would give away much of my direct sales to you GreenGuy or whatever it'd take to become your top sponsor :) I can only imagine how many affiliates you could bring in for your top sponsors! I had a sponsor actually do that for me in the past too.. told me he thought some of the floating sign-ups were mine :thumbsup Ntw, know I just remembered l-o-r was the first linklist I ever visited as a newbie years ago and was really amused by this http://www.link-o-rama.com/greenguy/...s/greenguy.gif tried to build one similar to that for my own site but just didn't have the skill :( Well.. I still don't have that skill years later but got a little money now to get someone to build me one if needed :)

greenguy 04-04-2003 06:04 PM

turbo - sorry for the delay - I just signed up - I must say I do like what I see :)

I'll also get you listed in the resource area on Greenguy & Jim the next time we update :)

PornHero 04-04-2003 10:19 PM

Hey Greenguy,

I just wanted to say congrats on your new webmaster resource site:
http://www.greenguyandjim.com/ :thumbsup

BTW, you have Directnic listed in your Domain Registrars section - they have a pretty cool affiliate program that pays 0.50 to $1.00 per domain purchased for the life of each customer that you refer...it can really add up... you should throw the affiliate linkcode on the page :Graucho

greenguy, nice looking resource site.

do you have plans on displaying stats for revshare programs seperate of the pps?

greenguy 04-05-2003 06:41 AM

PornHero - you know, I completely forgot about that - LOL - thanks for the head sup & I'm glad you like the new site :)

FiReC - at this time, no - I have looked into it, but the way the stats are reported from each billing company varies so much that it'd take me way to long to sort them all out into something that looks decent (you have to take into account all the recurrings & whatnot & some put them in with your normal totals, others put them in a separate area, etc.)

Behind the ugliest banner stand the prettiest ratio.
