Love it except the sound.

It doesn't seem to affect most songs and the volume can be cranked high with really no problem.

The issue however is with Windows alerts, pings etc. Even from a low volume these will distort very badly.

Also, occasionally low audio will sound distorted.

Anyone have any idea?

Find playback devices, and try to set another one as Default. This is the window that you have to find:

A relative's laptop had that issue, and changing to another one solved it. For them, all sound was disorted though... but it's worth a try.

There is nothing else available apart from the default.
