Chexx Shuts Down, Affiliates Switch Your Payout Methods

The company Chexx suddenly shut down (?!) and now many adult companies are scrambling to send out affiliate payments via other methods. Most are offering Paxum, Payoneer and either PayPal or wires. I've gotten six emails about this so far today from various adult companies.

I can only accept PayPal, checks or wires (no Paxum or Payoneer here) so what to do in these cases? Pull links til those that do not offer PayPal or wires (or checks) and wait until they find a replacement for Chexx?

What a pain. But Kudos for those adult companies being on top of things and letting affiliates and partners know ASAP.

You could always get yourself a Paxum account, it's free to register your account with us. We ask for picture ID and proof of address for a personal account. For business accounts we request business registration/articles of incorporation, plus picture ID and proof of address.

No sign-up fees, no maintenance (monthly) fees, no minimum balance required, and we don't charge you anything to receive money to your Paxum account from your sponsors.

So half of your payout systems were not reliant on the same companies that are being shut down because of mail fraud ?

As a result of the situation with Chexx, check withdrawal is not currently available, and EFT/ACH withdrawal is temporarily unavailable. ACH and EFT will be reinstated very soon to the Paxum system.

No offense intended but I am in the US so do not feel the need to have Paxum (or Payoneer). Plus I do not like the idea of all these 'virtual wallets'. I understand webmasters in other countries prefer these types of payout methods but I do not. Direct deposit/wires or checks please. I also do not use PayPal for anything but accepting funds, transferring said funds to my business account and sending payments (from my business checking).

For those who cannot send wires or PayPal I will simply wait until they offer a payout method I am confortable with and promote Programs that have those payouts.

There is another option: You can continue receiving wire transfers to your local bank account if you sign up for an ePayService virtual account and withdraw your funds from there.

When people were getting screwed left and right during the epassporte situation - I was continueing to get my payments deposited normally into my bank account via a check

I am sure many programs will be able to find a replacement within a month or so although I think especially for non US companies it will get harder and harder to be able to send USD funds to US webmasters, and for all the intermediate companies it also seems to get harder and harder (just see how both Paxum and Payoneer were also affected by this for some parts of their business and how Paxum always keeps changing bank accounts, and Payoneer regularly switches payment providers, etc.).

they need to start doing payouts in bitcoin,

payoneer, paxum, paypal, all have too many rules and want to much cuts, its time to cut off the middle man,

i've seen more and more sites starting to pay out in bitcoin,

i always choose bitcoin for payout now, it's much easier, bitcoin doesn't judge what business your are running

ACH withdrawal (to US Bank accounts) is back up and functioning normally. We appreciate your patience.

EFT withdrawal is still temporarily unavailable, but we should have that reinstated soon.

It is the least expensive payment method when receiving affiliate commissions, it's mostly free and is just simple without the bells and whistles of other options that end up costing a lot more to do business with. Fees do add up!

Completely agree with you that I also do not like 'virtual wallets' and such. My #1 preference is checks since they are usually free and also free from hassle and other costs. It's pure, simple and direct. Love checks.

Checks are mostly a problem outside the US.

If you live in East Shitstainastan then yeah you want your money via a virtual wallet service.

But I live in WEST Shitstainastan so checks please.

Sometimes it is the only option besides wire in affiliate programs. If the payment is international, the wire fee is high and the minimum payout is often also set high.

Later years, check payments sucks too internationally, because the banks will not (or can not) pay directly without clearing the checks first abroad. This process can take many weeks. And therefore they also now charge fees per check. Not per bulk of checks.

This setup only, is expensive, unpredictable and/or slow, from an affiliiate point of view. Unless you are a "whale" with a bigger and steady flow of income each week. Personally, I usually stear away from new progams with these options only. Especially if wire minimum payout is set high, the check option is not really a good option.

The other disadvantage of depositing foreign cheques is that if there's a problem with the source account, you may not find out for a few weeks. Add to that another week or two for the cheque to get to you in the first place, and a program that suddenly goes bust could leave you with 4 or 5 worthless cheques.

My local bank will "purchase" cheques under $USD300, which means they assume the risk of a bounce, and credit my account within 24 hours. Anything over that and they need to be sent for collection, which means you have to wait 4-6 weeks for the issuing bank to confirm the cheque is valid and the account has sufficient funds to pay it.

From memory globill died not long after I had deposited a cheque, but it took a while for the issuing bank to say "nup", and for the deposit transaction to be reversed...
