    Outgoing links to sponsor question

    OK, It would be great to hear different opinions:

    If I have a site with approximately 2K blog posts, what is the smarter way to link to sponsor?

    1. Each blog post has outgoing link to sponsor (cloaked or not)
    2. Posts from same sponsors go to one only one sponsor page with aff link to sponsor. On that page should be some more info about the site.

      The second one will work (sales wise) only if you presell the surfers right and send him straight to the join page. Otherwise surfers will go through too many steps ( SE > blog post > page with sponsor links > tour > join page )..

              Yeah I totally get your POV.. but if you promote only a limited amount of paysites, then you could simply copy the tours to a local folder (blog.com/paysite1) or subdomain (paysite1.blog.com) and send the surfers there.. so this way it won't be an affiliate link. But I'm not sure if it will help SEO wise..

                      I've done this for a few programs that have been unstable about their links -- one that I've been promoting since 2004 is on its fifth affiliate program. The most recent change about six weeks ago I only had to change one link, it was awesome.

                      On the other hand, I definitely agree with Paul&John that sales suffer using this method. So I don't do it with most programs.
                      Offering sponsored blog posts and custom writing services.

                              Of course you never should use sponsor link codes in your posts etc, just redirect the users via .htaccess or php.. where you can implement some cloaking as well. This way if a sponsor goes tits up you dont have to go through shitloads of links.
