I am not a fan of the Apples. But I am not sure what the problem is. No more head phone jack? Cry me a river. At this point everything connects via Bluetooth anyhow.

The new iPhone 7 looks decent. I need to upgrade from my i'5 so I will go check it out when they hit the stores.
People are crying about the loss of the earphone port. Big deal! It comes with an adapter as you said so you can still use earphones.
What I wish they did though, was include their iphone earphones with the 7 like they have always done in the past. They were actually pretty good! At least you can still buy them separately for about $25 or so.
Anyway, now their are rumours that a completely new phone from Apple will be hitting the stores next fall, and may not even be called an iPhone. It's supposed to have an edge to edge or wrap-around screen like the Galaxy, and be even thinner (sheeeet!). So maybe I will just hold off 1 more year.Comment

No, the real reason is so Apple can charge you $20 for a USB cable. Meanwhile you can buy them for Android as cheap as $5.
It's same reason they are doing away with this jack. They can then charge you $20 for a adapter that plugs into the Apple mini connector.

The new phone comes with a set of earpods that plug into the lightning port, and it includes a 3.5mm earphone to lightning port adapter to use with your existing earbuds or headphones.
It's no big deal really, but I understand that people like to cry about things. So there's that.

Adapters usually suck. Within the next 6 months all of the big audio houses will be rolling out headphones with lightning.
Bluetooth is fine, but it's got some issues in regards to the AirPods: easy to lose (people have a hard enough time keeping track of their phones,) yet another thing to remember to charge (people are constantly plugging their phones into whatever electric outlet they can find,) small (easy to forget, which will create annoyance)
