Saw about 30 seconds of it, of course in the middle of an anti-Trump piece - surprising. But i noticed something very typical: The audience has the same double standards as the show itself and they don't even notice it.
They were interviewing Trump supporters, edited to only show the idiots. So the reporter did his 'clever' bit, letting a guy say that in the US women are respected unlike in some islamic countries only as a setup to ask what was on his shirt, because it said 'Hillary sucks but not like Monica'. Now I am not going into the flaws of the joke, as his shirt has nothing to do with women in general, it only insults Clinton. It doesn't have anything to do with the whole gender.
Anyway. As the guy revealed his shirt and read the text 'Hillary sucks but not like Monica', the Daily Show audience went 'ooooooh'. They thought it was really shocking, they didn't like it and it caught them off guard.
Now lets go back a few months when i also saw a bit of this extremely bad show. In this bit, the host repeatedly said: "Donald Trump wants to fuck his daughter". This is not even a joke, it's a disturbing insulting statement about incest. I think we can all agree it is way worse than that Hillary shirt. But the audience didn't go 'oooooh' this time. This time the audience laughed like empty headed hyenas.
