Rant Feel like giving up lately...

I have been in the online game for a long time and have been fortunate enough to have my eggs in many baskets, but I think the adult toy market was at points the most fun.

I have worked with many programs over the years and sadly I can see as an affiliate the market is being destroyed - mostly by Amazon. You just can not compete against them as an affiliate - especially with Amazon prime.

While I was working before with feeder sites and white label stores, I am now changing all my feeder stores to price comparison sites with links to my White Labels, Adam and Eve and now Amazon in hopes I will make a few bucks with Amazon.

It is shocking how with little knowledge and almost zero investment there was a time I was bringing in more than $10K a month in commission and I have some programs I send tens of thousands of page views and can't bring in $100.

Has anyone else tried what I am doing and did it work at all?

So you blame Amazon for destroying your market and now you are destroying all your tried and trusted feeder sites to make new sites that point to the aforementioned Amazon.

Sense, much? No.

Maybe you should go back to doing what you were doing originally, fuck Amazon.

What is happening with some online outlets (like Amazon) is what happened in retail with stores like Wal-Mart. It's natural that this phenomenon would move to online.

I don't know how people buy/sell shit on ebay and make a living but many do. With Amazon you need insane volume to make bank. Best of luck with your new ideas!

I went to the ANME Founders show last month in Burbank, and a I heard a lot of people say the same. Why would you buy a vibrator from a sex toy store when you can buy it through Amazon Prime?

I myself went to the show, and had a list of sex toys I wanted to buy... I bought them all through Amazon.

Exactly.

Showrooming is the new reality. Trying to find a company smart enough to protect their distributors and in turn affiliates by not selling to Amazon is now impossible from what I see.

I can say after holding off for a long time I finally bought a significant amount of Amazon stock this year and I am very happy with my gains already.

I buy 16 pound bags of cat food and even my shampoo from Amazon since it is the same exact thing and way cheaper than the cheapest store around me.

That's because those who weren't selling unique or branded items on Amazon were mysteriously being knocked off and sold on Amazon by whackamole chinese distributors. Amazon looked the other way, had a long dispute process, and after they closed a new store would mysteriously open with the same items

humans selling things will be a thing of the past soon...

the ones who have the cheapest price will have the most customers but to have the cheapest price you have to cut out everybody you can and from everywhere you can...

sam walton used to phone companies that produced goods and sold in his store and urge them to cut salaries for workers so he could sell their product cheaper at wallmart...

amazon has them dash buttons now...press a button and you get the product without even going online...

its a vicious circle, people want to pay the least $$$ possible, this in turn makes more people poor, and this in turn makes more people want to pay for shit for the least $$$ possible...

every human job possible is being eliminated to cut costs...in the end amazon will be an army of robots and drones and dash buttons it will not even have to have online presence

there is no future in selling things, there is only a future in producing things or offering services...not a great future but better than the alternative...

the good times are over boys and girls...there is no coming back from this one...capitalism is exposing its flaws whether you want to admit it or not...

One thing that has never slowed down for me is ebooks. Help someone solve a problem and they will pay you. I even upload fake versions of my books to ppd sites and collect commissions off people tring to get free copies. It wont make you rich but its steady money.

Here's the thing, you're gonna hear a lot of anecdotes and "try harder" rants, but what most people aren't talking about is that this is really the second coming of the guilded age. Maybe you remember Standard Oil, or the other monopolies on business in the late 1800's, early 1900's. Some people said it couldn't happen again, not possible with anti-trust laws. Well as you can see, Amazon is taking over almost every market including sex toys, but people tell you to just try harder or try new things.

Here's my question, at what point does being david. vs goliath pay off when goliath owns david's source of food and livelihood?

This problem is the outcome of capitalism. Other outcomes of Capitalism may be good.

In the not too distant future as more AI and automation take more than 1/2 the jobs away Capitalism and our US democracy will have to adapt.

What people better do is step it up, change gears, be creative, be innovative, have the balls to go for trial and errors and make sure that when technological invasion comes,
