    Rant How often & how many have Paypal limited account access

    OMG, I was expecting a few payments from a few companies this week, so checking my paypal account. Logging in to read

    Why is my account access limited?

    Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):

    5 Aug 2016: When you signed up for your PayPal account, you agreed to our User Agreement and Acceptable Use Policy. We've had to permanently limit your account because some of your recent transactions violated this policy.

    You'll be able to withdraw any money in your account 180 days after your last transaction. This is to ensure that we can cover any chargebacks that may be filed on previous transactions during this period. We'll email you when you can withdraw your money.

    If you've any references to PayPal on websites you may own, please remove them.

    (Your case ID for this reason is xxxxxxxxxxxxx.)

    This limitation cannot be appealed against.
    I've emailed them as I've not misused the account & only use it to accept payments from a couple of companies that do not use payoneer.

    Hoping to hear back from them, in the meantime, tell me your stories

      Currently locked out because for security PayPal decided to change my password. Can't login because the email associated with the account no longer accepts incoming mail and the phone numbers they seem to hold for me seem to be years old.

          Sorry to hear that. You don't know what triggered it?

          It would be awful to lose the Paypal account.

          Sponsors really shouldn't use PayPal for payouts, they should all have either of Paxum or Payoneer at least.

                      Yes, I'm considering that the reason is because payment from the adult company YK. However, it's not really an adult payment transaction, considering it's payment for a paycheck. So he actual transaction is business income & not adult related.

                      But this could be why... a big shame

                      damn, hoping when they say no appeal, they give a reason & I can say it's incorrect, if it is of course.

                      As said above, wondering if it was for a payment for income from company YK, instead an actual adult business transaction for an adult product etc.

                              I once was limited because of "adult transactions". Specifically there was an adult site mentioned in the "description" of a transaction and it took me a few weeks to get it recovered.

                              After SEVERAL mails (ans some useless phonecalls) I finally had to promise to not do any adult stuff anymore and then my account was recovered.

                                      I've had I think 3 of these "permanent suspensions" reversed... If it's a business account and you do enough volume they will work with you.

                                                              never been limited personally, but have heard a ton of stories of peeps involved in adult having this occur, even when they did not use paypal for any adult products/services. appears that pp assumes peeps in adult are incapable of adhering to the ToS

                                                              even though the message reads permanent, echo the peeps above suggesting you contact them anyway. worth a shot at least, good luck

                                                                      it's strange though. I haven't been using the paypal for sales or anything to do with adult as we have a ccbill for sales on nataliekash.

                                                                      I've only used it for payments for income from companies, yes, adult related companies, but the payment wasn't for adult, just as they do to all their models. It must be that company. Shall see over the next few days when they, if they reply

                                                                                              True, it was for my transactions & it's Gary's business paypal. So could be the name that messed it up

                                                                                              We, either of us do not use paypal apart from ebay transactions when buying a product or when others want it used, like with youkandy, although, they've said they'll pay it direct into our bank now with no charges, so no big deal there. I was just very interested how others have found paypal, and at least found a few different views. Hoping we can get it re opened, as is worthwhile when buying through ebay

                                                                                                                  You can go for years on Paypal with no problem at all and then one day...suspended. I have also heard of lots of people getting their account suspended.
                                                                                                                  I don't know why anyone would risk their paypal account. I am not accusing anyone here to doing that, but I have seen lots of cam girls who take paypal payments for private shows (which I think is insane as your personal info is there for one thing) and are then surprised and shocked when they get reported and blocked. Also have seen quite a few adult sites taking paypal (not through epoch)

Even selling an adult related domain name will get you shut down. Back in March I had a nearly detrimental month where I got hit with around $12k in charge backs (several large transactions) and I figured I'd get shut down. Luckily it was also one of my best sales months ever and I covered it all and never heard anything from them. Although I'm certain if I didn't cover them I would have.

                                                                                                                                                          Paypal is great when it works but there are some really silly rules where concerns lifting limits for receiving & sending money and when they apply account limitations.

                                                                                                                                                          They also stop you accessing your account so easily when you travel abroad and its sometimes difficult to get it resolved because they have no way for the customer to tell them, "hey im abroad, please allow me to access my paypal account from other countries"
