TTT + RevShare Hosting

Ok ive setup my tgp and uploaded all files including the TTT trade script files.

Finished all the CHMOD and created all databases.

Next step is to run the setup file for the script, but its saying it cannot connect to MySQL?

Im using localhost as the location of the dB, is this incorrect?

Any other "heads up's" about this issue are welcome.

Thanks.

I don't think ARS has sql on localhost, a server that hosts ars sites gets slammed with http requests so it would get overloaded to also let sql run on it. I think they have another server for that, i would anyway if i had a server loaded that high.

VERY IMPORTANT: Your HOSTNAME for the database must be: mysql.revsharehosting.com. Please DO NOT use "localhost" for your hostname.

Well, same thing, they have a seperate server for it, would get overloaded if they didn't

Choker, i had a domain there once, also used TTT but had to install it three times.... seems it gets messy when TTT creates the tables. Really not much you can do about but let them update sql or atleast let them load balance it or get a second sql server, kinda overloaded if you ask me.

Nope, if it's installed and your sql gets stuck just reinstall it, once it works it keeps working.

hmm

Everything seemed to go in fine, TTT said it was installed properly and all.

I then went and deleted all my setup files.

I then went to go into my admin area and got an SQL error, as well as when i go to the URL i get an sql error.

I wonder if it has something to do with the include?

If you have no trades, add some. TTT barfs when there are no trades and spews out a bunch of PHP errors.

I couldn't have said it any better. LOL

Rich what I am mainly concerned about is if the script quieres the findtrades databases correctly since you have the script on a different server than your site. Also hit the "Check Trades" link in your script to have the script manually quirey the databases and let me know if it works, thanks

Quick update guys.

I have followed all directions to the "T" (ive used TTT forever so i know i didnt mess up).

TTT setup told me it worked, and i deleted the setup files, yet there is a SQL error.

At this time i cannot access the trades admin screen.

I have emailed maestro and he said to give it the night to see if the database needs to propagate or something.

Also when i go to the site, it shows an error from the include script.

See example here:
http://www.smokinteens.com/tgp/index.shtml

I cant add trades at this time because i cannot get into the admin page.

Ill keep you guys updated.

PS something very weird. Go to my site and hit refresh like 10 times, it seems like 1/10 times it actually works. This is most bizarre

One of the causes of this may be that it is synched on some of the servers, and not all of them ... so when you refresh your landing on a new server that is synched. With this idea, i imagine that eventually they will all be synched and they will all work so i can add trades.

Well id hate to leave maestro at this point, but if this doesnt get working i will have no choice but to host the TGP's elsewhere ... i have invested too much already to not have them up and running.

But he has been dedicated to me for some time, i atleast owe them a chance to make it right.

Quick update guys.

All 8 sites seem to be loading now, and i can actually get to the TTT admin signin page. But when i enter my user/pass it gives me a SQL error.

This seems odd to me because if the servers are synched to let me to the signin page, why wouldnt it let me past there?

Also i went to my page a few times, and only 1 time i got a FULL page of SQL errors.

http://www.smokinteens.com/tgp/index.shtml

Do you see any SQL error?

Thanks.

Akira it's up to you man but there are over 1800 TGPs using TTT now. If you set up a server for them so they can set up TTT easy I can post a link to your signup on the TTT website. I understand your concern about php scripts, but TTT is extremely efficient, there are many tgps over 150k a day and with no backed up mysql quireies. We have fine tuned the hell out of TTT to make it run smooth and be easy on mysql databases.

Update:

I think we have figured out the problem.

I am waiting for my servers to synch so i can test it for sure, but right now its looking good.

As soon as everything is functional and bug free, ill make that post on chickenboard choker.

So far i am able to load the admin area, as well as add trades and the hits are showing the correct referrers.

Only problem, it only does this stuff when i load the site on the temp server, not the main domain.

Ill need to wait for them to synch before i can say for sure if its working correctly.

Until then!

It'd be nice if they had a DB initialize script eh?

So you can actually run a TGP on those servers? How is their speed, uptime and so forth? Which tgpscript do you use?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am about to start my firts TGP myself.
