This is just stunning. I still can't believe this has happened.
Not only is Trump to blame, but so is the entire Republican party. (Please keep in mind I was a hardcore Republican at one point.) I expect our government to do it's job. Instead, the Republican party just wants to beat the the side.
Case in point is Obamacare. This is flawed, and needs to be fixed. However, instead of fixing it, the Republican party has vowed to repeal it. They put ALL of their effort into this. They almost accomplished it too, only to discover that suddenly millions of people would have lost their healthcare. The Republican party backed themselves into a corner where no matter what happened they would lose. If Obamacare became the law they lost, and if they repealed Obamacare they still lost (because millions would have lost their healthcare, and the Republican party would have gotten the blame for this).
The focus on Clinton over the past four years has been ridiculous.
The entire discussion about Benghazi was stupid; This was a terrorist attack that no one saw coming, no one could have prevented, and nothing anyone could have done would have changed anything. For some reason we have to have nine investigations about this. We've had more investigations into Benghazi than the Kennedy assassination, Apollo 13, and 9/11 combined. And every time every investigation came back with the same result - nothing was done wrong.
The email server was more of the same crap. This wasn't a violation of the law; It was routine at the State Department. Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell had similar set ups, as did other members of Congress. There was no indication that any law was broken, but instead they went looking for "anything bad". The end result is after a year long investigation sucking up the time of one hundred and twenty agents and ten million dollars was "no charges".
Yet they continue to call her crooked and say she lied. She was asked a vague question, and gave a blanket answer. She was put on the spot and asked about the content of fifty thousand emails and obviously she cannot answer that question with a large staff of attorneys spending months reviewing all of those emails.
I am not a fan of Clinton; If you want to attack her.... go after her. Go after her lack of accomplishments in the past ten years as Senator and Secretary of State. Don't make up lies and stupid bullshit that isn't true.Herschel Savage

If you know your history, you know that in a prliamentary democracy ( which Germany Weimar republic then was), the party with most votes gets to form the goverment and its leader is automatically the first minister. Under the presidential rule at that time Hindenburg did not like the "little Bohemian corporal" and have initially refused to appoint Hitler a chancellor even though Hitler was constitutionally entitled, but then von Papen and his cronies "leaned" on him and Hindenburg relented. That is why Hitler was freely elected chancellor.
My point 1 was that a strong willed leader will outmanoeuvre all his opponents as Trump already have done

I was watching Maddow break down Trump's horrible polling numbers in the swing states -- which BTW is crucial for winning the election. Trump went to Maine yesterday. This is a state which he can't win, nor will it help him win. This campaign has no idea what it's doing.
She was saying that those kind of poll numbers in swing states means your campaign is on fire, sinking into a lake that's on fire, and the fire trucks show up on fire and shoot fire from their hoses. Funny, but also pretty much true in this situation.
Trump is not turning this around. It's only a week after the convention and his campaign is already in this much disarray? Joshua can probably explain how Trump will win because Hillary will be taken away in cuffs at the right moment, just like all of his conservative sludge "news" sites tell him. Trump has never run an election before. Not once. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, has run dozens of them including two presidential runs. She knows exactly what needs to be done, step by step, state by state.
Guess how many Trump commercials I've seen in the past week? Zero. Guess how many Clinton commercials I've seen in the past week? Dozens and dozens. (I live in Sacramento, California.) The Clinton commercials are really good too....
They show him looking like a jack ass and show her looking nice and polite and Presidential. This is another area where Trump failed - He must look Presidential ALL THE TIME.
