While there are some events I enjoy, the summer Olympics have less to offer other than who is going to get sick and die; and who is going to show up. At least this time.

I was reading an article how it's actually mostly women who like the olympics and they like the story build up. Athlete coming up through the ranks, growing up etc.. to the point of the event.
Men care about a couple of events but in general aren't the biggest audience.Comment

I like the amateur aspect of the Olympics, but generally lose interest when it's a "dream team" or professionals playing. I'd prefer it as an all-amateur showcase. Just a personal preference.NSFWComment
