Before we get started I should say that I originally posted this article on my site, The Naughty News Network. You are welcome to read the full article there if you like.

For years now I?ve ran a website called Fame Registry where I track the popularity of porn stars. When I first created the site in 2007, it wasn?t what it is today. It?s grown my leaps and bounds since then.

It?s not meant to be an attack on anyone. It started as just a list for my own personal information when trying to determine when new porn star I was going to promote movies for. Then one day I started working with Bluebird Films. I was able to use this data to determine who the best girls in the industry were to shoot with and promote.

Anyway, let?s talk about what makes a girl ?popular?? What I learned is that no one factor will determine a girls popularity. One girl may have the most popular website, but does that single fact make her THE most popular? No.

But it does factor into it.

Does a girl who has most awards or nominations. Does that make her the most famous? Nope.

But it does factor into it.

If a girl gets the most Google searches in a month. Does that make her the most famous? Not even close.

But it does factor into it.

Then there is social media. I track all the porn stars on twitter and then rank them by who has the most followers. But just because you have the most followers doesn?t make you the most popular porn star. While a lot of people really think having a lot of followers makes them more famous, the sad truth is, that isn?t the case. I mean sure it factors into it somewhat, but buying followers is just far to common for it to really count.

I know some producers actually look at a girls twitter account and decide or not if they want to book them basically on how many followers they have. That?s so beyond stupid because anyone can buy followers on twitter and many many many many many girls do. That?s silly but it?s a fact.

But does having a lot of twitter followers really make them famous? Not even close.

Recently I got a message from a porn star who was down right pissed off that they weren?t in the top 10.

I don?t want to embarrass the girl by showing you what else she said or even show you her name, but some girls actually get offended if they don?t appear on the top 10 list or even the top 100 list. In fact this girl in question isn?t even on the top 100 list.

Now obviously I don?t use data from free tube sites to rank a girl?s popularity but it is worth noting, that is valuable data.

Fans visit a website, any website that features all the porn stars. The ones that are watched the most are what? That?s right ? the most popular (at least on that site). So even if I did get my data from free tube sites (which I don?t), it would still be a valid ranking factor.

The concept of popularity is rather simple ? fans like what they like. The more fans you have, the more popular (or famous) you are.

But just because others are more famous than you doesn?t make you a bad person, it just means they are more famous than me. I mean Angelina Jolie is way more famous than me. It doesn?t make me a bad person it just means she has way more fans than I do. Those are just the facts.

So let?s just take a look at PornHub?s top 20 more popular porn stars for the month of July 2016.

Now let?s look at the top 20 for Fame Registry. Now keep in mind this list is for all tracked porn stars, meaning like the PornHub, some of them may no longer be active. For reference I?ll put what PornHub has them listed at in terms of popularity so you can easily compare.

Now let?s talk about movies. In the end porn stars make movies. That?s what this is all about. So in theory the way a movie sells really can often times speak for the popularity of a porn star.

Our friends over at Gamelink have provided us with a list of their most popular movies right now. For this report we will use only the pornstar on the cover of the movie.

Now let?s go back to the girl who wrote me this original message ?

Her name isn?t on the PornHub top 20. It?s not on my top 20. She?s not the star of any best selling movie right now.

Yet she actually went as far to imply I?m trying to disparage her name and reputation because I won?t put her in my top 10.

What she doesn?t seem to understand is that I don?t ?PUT? anyone on any list. The lists area generated by a computer, based on statistical data from a various of sources.

• She?s not one of the top 10 or even top 15 most Google?d porn stars.
• She?s not one of the top 10, even even top 20 most popular porn stars on Twitter.
• Her official site isn?t on the top 10 list of most popular porn star websites.
• She?s not the star of a single movie in the top 10 best selling list right now.

So considering all of that, you have to ask yourself this ? how would she possibly be one of the top 10 most popular porn stars in the world?

My lists at Fame Registry aren?t based on who *I* think are most famous. They are based on facts and figures.

If you don?t agree with those facts and figures, that?s fine. But I can?t control them. I can?t make Google like you more. I can?t make you have more twitter followers.

All I can do is add up all these factors and report what shows up.

It?s nothing personal. I don?t have anything against you. It?s just the numbers are what they are.

I know in your little mind you think you are more famous than you are, but trust me ? You aren?t. So before you get all butt hurt and block me on twitter, just keep this information in mind.
