G7 update. why russia all the sudden? what about tariff deals?

wait, I thought tarriffs and shit were the primary issue, why wouldn't they be? but trump walks in and first thing exclaims ruskies need to be let back into the group?

    more 9 dimensional chess.

and not just trump, no leader there appears to be interested in negotiating deals.

These guys are supposed to be deal makers, that's their job.

trump's not the only world leader with an out of control ego.

Trump fucked up. Trump can't see the end game. He only sees "right now". He's been talking about tariffs and I believe some of them have been put in place. This plays well with his base back home, but pisses off ALL of our allies. He walked into the G7 Summit and was faced with a group of really pissed off people so he flipped it and said "Gee, maybe no tariffs". He can't please everyone. If he puts tariffs in place it pleases his base but pisses off our allies, and if he removes the tariffs it will piss off his base but please our allies.

Trump doesn't understand the concept of long term. He is very much stuck in the boardroom with "let's make a deal right now" without understanding the consequences of his actions. In the boardroom they make a deal and everyone walks away happy. It doesn't work this way with world politics. He made a promise to his base - to put tariffs in place - and now he has to deal with the consequences.

He calls himself the great negotiator but hasn't finalized a single deal since he took office nearly two years ago.

Ok, it looks like Trump is trying to put some deals together. Good. Negotiating to end all tariffs, which I am already otr stating is a good idea for all involved.

Let's see if Trudeau, macron, and the others can put aside their egos, do their jobs and negotiate deals.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that she agrees with Trump’s push for freer trade, adding talks over crucial changes to global trading rules will keep moving ahead.

"We also agreed that we want to reduce tariffs and remove trade barriers and also to reduce subsidies,” Merkel said at her closing press conference. “Many of the current discussions about trade, especially with the U.S., despite the common commitment, will continue.”

Trump missed the meeting with Macron so that's not gonna happen. Not showing up to meetings is cowardly, no art of the deal in that tactic.

Macron's no shrewd negotiator really either.

Nothing about Macron comes across as shrewd that's for sure

Chump is bought and paid for by Russia, so now he has to find a way to pay them back for helping him win the presidency. Hence his push to get them back to the G8

I'm still hoping some sweet deals will close, I know they won't happen this weekend though, but over the next 2 weeks if so. remove all tariffs worldwide = sweet.

i'm with trump on no tariffs, it's a great way to move forward for everyone involved.
