    Is it worth mining bitcoins from scratch at this point?

    I have a staff of mainstream guys who could set up and run the system but I’m wondering if it’s cost prohibitive at this point being so late in the game.

          at current prices the answer is fuck no...however if btc goes up in the future to say 50K/coin then the answer is yes...

          now for the money you would invest in mining you would be better off just buying the coin and sitting on it...

              It depends on how difficult the algorithm is and how much power you are using. It seems the only people making money are the people selling the miners. A miner has maybe 12 months of life before the difficulty goes up and you essentially are left with an electric heater

                      Bitcoin is not worth mining. However, there are some alternate coins that are very very profitable right now - if you have the right software and hardware.
