So, that means that the Russians are responsible because they radicalized the Chechens. If Chechnya was a free sovereign state -- this may not have happened.

2 Chechen brothers were responsible for the Boston Marathon Bombing.
Now a Chechen stands accused of this weeks Istanbul Airport terrorist bombing.

If the USA had done nothing after 9/11 Al-Queda would have gone away.

Any more fairy tails you would like us to believe?

Actually AFAIK he is a Dagestan not a Chechen one, but it doesn't make a difference. The EU government have always been in love with radical Islamists from Russian North Caucasus and was ready to give them a shelter. To be honest, the US government was not better. When we called them "terrorists" and fought them in their holes, your media has called them "rebels" and gave them a citizenship on right and left. Do you remember Boston bombers? Both had the US citizenship although both were in terrorist base in Russia and they were reported to the US secret service a few years before the bombing.

The guy was just recently released from prison in Georgia on terrorism charges yet he's still not only allowed to move freely but assisted in doing so by these people all the while he has "additional" terror charges pending in Russia. The reason? “could face an unfair trial and would be at risk of torture and other ill-treatment.” Tell that to those he killed and maimed families...

If the Soviets had never invaded Afghanistan the USA would never had armed bin Laden.

Afghanistan could have done whatever the Afghans wanted -- tribes killing tribes -- whatever.

The Soviet v. NATO block Cold War dogma has caused the terrorism today.

Afghanistan was not strategic to the Soviets or NATO in 1978 -- the Afghans should have been left alone -- everyone would be better off for it.

Yes, Dagestan is a permanent war zone like Gaza Strip in Israel, but much bigger (just watch those counter-terror youtube videos). Everything that happens there is not because they want Dagexit (most of citizens want to live in Russia). That's a very poor region with an outstanding unemployment rate. Now put it together with their religion and you'll get the best condition for radical Islam.

Wow someone else who actually gets it. It's amazing the level of amnesia people have on this situation. The soviets spent the better half of a century trying to expand and conquer other countries. The only reason the US was in the middle east to begin with was to drive them out. Not only can you thank Russians for Afghanistan, but also North Korea. The Soviets were the ones who put those assholes in power (please don't make that BS excuse of the Soviet Union not existing anymore). North and South Korea are the perfect example of what being backed by Russia or the US will bring you.

the most recent obvious case was the leadup to world war II, nobody wanted to do anything about hitler. & when facts of the holocaust became known, the west did nothing.
