Content use is licensed to affiliates toward promoting the sponsor's product -- what the website sells the referrer (hopefully).
Our 'friend' here wants his content product for free and offers nothing in return. Let me make is easy to understand: would you give someone you don't know the USB flash memory in your computer with your stuff on it for free because he is too cheap to buy his own? I doubt it

Search Engines have safe harbor on image search. That is just a legal loophole but that is the way it is.
You 'give' your content to Google (all search engines) in exchange for the value received for search engines' referrals. That is legally a 'quid pro quo' value received (reasonable compensation) contract.
You could become a noindex website which negates any consent or implied contracted quid pro quo right of a fair use. The search engine is put on notice. The the commercial use by the search engine of your content intentionally becomes a tort -- copyright infringement.Comment
