Of course there are stories like this. Just like there are as many, if not more stories of innocent people accidentally being injured or killed by guns because the owners don't know what the fuck they are doing with them.There are about 1,500 children under the age of 14 killed every year from gun violence. Of those about 40% of them are from suicide or accidental shooting. That means about 600 kids every year either use a gun to kill themselves or they are accidentally killed by a guy. 1.6 kids every day. We don't hear much about that in the news either.
You can say it is political or whatever, but the reality is in most states anyone who wants one can go get a conceal carry permit. Those who have them and feel like they are capable of using their gun properly can do so, there is nothing stopping them. I don't have a problem with those people. I do have a problem with just letting anyone, without any kind of class, background check or training just holstering up a gun and heading out to protect society.
