News Rays sideline reporter axed after racist comments in Facebook chat

Emily Austen won't be the sideline reporter for future Tampa Bay Rays games on Fox Sports Florida. Nor will she do that job for the Orlando Magic next season either.

After unleashing a variety of racial and religious jokes during a live Facebook chat with Barstool Sports, Austen has gotten the ax from Fox's regional sports station.

Austen appeared Thursday on Barstool Sports' daily Facebook Live chat and while trying to bro it up with the Bartstool gang, she trotted out stereotypes about Mexicans, Chinese people and Jews, while also name-calling Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Here's a recap from the Tampa Bay Times.

During a 35-minute video with three men, Austen made several controversial comments, among them:

she "didn't even know that Mexicans were that smart.''

How the "Chinese guy is always the smartest guy in math class.''

About how she "used to talk to Jews in Boca'' when she was a server, saying one customer was "stingy'' because he complained about how she poured his beer and that "they would complain and b---- about everything.''

Austen, 27, also referred to Cleveland Cavaliers basketball player Kevin Love as a "little b - - - -.''

The comment about Mexicans seems to be a compliment? I admit it is a backhanded compliment but still nothing really bad.

The comment about Chinese is absolutely a compliment.

The comment about "Jews in Boca": Even Jews will admit that the old Jews who retire to South Florida are miserable. This is the comment that got her fired and all the groveling and cock sucking will never get her back on TV. They will have her make a huge ass licking apology but it won't matter. She is unemployable now. She should have made fun of Cuckservatives because they are the only group that won't fight back due to being huge pussies. She got fired because Fox Sports would lose advertisers if they didn't. They'd lose advertising because normal people don't like buying products from corporations that promote ignorant bigotry.

I'm a GFY guy so I obviously don't give a shit and I HATE PC bulshit, its all over the fucking place. A couple going out to dinner a few days after their baby was born get blasted on social media as not caring about their child, WTF?!?

There needs to be company that hires only these people after they get publicly lynched. Make a statement that the mistakes these people make don't define them as a whole and you can hold a job having a different viewpoint.

This has nothing to do with PC politics and everything to do with business. If you work for a company, especially if you are in a position where you are in the media representing that company, and you say shit that could be offensive to the fans or that company or its business partners, you are going to get fired.
