You are taking this out of context.

Based on what little you've just told us, he basically said his attackers knocked the hat off of his head and "came at him like a pack of wild animals". He did not say "All blacks are wild packs of animals".

If a group of people attack you, no matter what color or race, it can feel like a pack of wild animals.
