Working at the post office, next door was a treasury building where they sent out social security checks, savings bonds, federal employee checks, etc. The blank savings bonds were delivered by Registered Mail.
I was the Registered Mail clerk at the local post office, next door, and the 1st in the door every morning. One morning, the driver accidentally delivered to me, $50,000,000 in blank savings bonds by mistake. I probably could have gotten at least $10,000,000 in my pickup. A possible chance to live in Rio or forever in Leavenworth, I stayed home.
