trafficjuicer sends me to popup hell

I found a live site with a trafficjuicer link, and clicked on it to see what would happen... instead of being sent to the paysite sponsor, I got sent to popup hell, including a dialer.

Hmmm. I guess they think Australians don't have credit cards. I've made 100% successful purchases with ccbill, ibill, globill, PSW, Verotel and 2checkout... not to mention paypal and the hosting companies who regularly charge my card.

I got to thinking... could a webmaster make LESS money with this sort of filtering because they're being sent to a nasty backup solution, possibly missing a potential paysite sale that WOULD have worked?

Yep I tested that when it first came out and same result - redirects all Australian traffic which is quite profitable.

I would suggset you contact them, let them know. I plan on using trafficjuicer in the future, so will other people, so it will happen more and more, and in the end telling them will make us all more $$$

Isn't there a way to customize it for your own account?
If not, maybe KC would be able to get his team add something like that, would be a nice feature.

You could get around this issue (partially) by doing some broad prefiltering based on the HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE parameter. For example, 'en-au' goes straight through to the sponsor rather than being passed to trafficjuicer. This isn't really all that accurate, but the difference in real sales versus backup dialers could be worth it. Fixing it at trafficjuicer is probably a better idea.

Hmmm. I hope trafficjuicer doesn't assume that 202.x.x.x, 203.x.x.x, 210.x.x.x and 211.x.x.x IPs are all "Asia" and redirect based on that... those ranges include Australian and New Zealand networks too.

This is one of the reasons why i suggest webmasters do their own filtering instead of using these programs that were launched over the last few months to profit from YOUR foreign traffic.

Redirecting your own surfers gives you much more control over where you send them and, more importantly, how much money you make.

There is also a lot of CRUCIAL information missing from their site like how much they pay for the sponsors that YOUR traffic is being sent to and also which countries they are actually redirecting.

Onbviously they are redirecting the wrong types of traffic to the wrong places whether this is because they dont know what International countries actually hold credit cards or, whether this is because they make more money themselves from sending surfers to diallers from English speaking speaking countries only they can answer.

However, the simple solution for everyone is to redirect your own foreign traffic to sponsors that YOU have chosen to send your hard earned traffic too.

Regards,

Lee

Popup hell? That's why I love my Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer. I've got the primary programable thumb button set for ALT+F4. I can walk into a popup ambush and come out smelling like roses.

I think Australian dialers are stable, and very profitable at the moment. I'm guessing TrafficJuicer make more money on an ozzy dialer than cc signups.

KC did say they were adding some features to enable/disable certain countries, not sure if thats live yet though.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for the interest in TrafficJuicer. A few quick points. First of all, the feedback we've been receiving has been overwhelmingly positive. Webmasters are making more money using our solution than they did before they used it.

We're paying out thousands per day and it's growing quickly! If you're not sorting your traffic, you are seriously missing out.

Popups are an excellent way to increase revenue. Everyone knows this, that's why every major paysite uses popups. I also know that not everyone wants to send their traffic to sites with popups. We can turn off popups (or reduce the number) if webmasters contact [email protected].

Regarding Australian traffic? As Richard mentioned, Australian dialers are paying very well right now. We're paying out $0.29US/minute for Australian traffic. These rates are in line with the top dialer companies. However, Webmasters can treat Australian traffic as "domestic" by simply contacting us. Send an email to [email protected] along with one of your current TrafficJuicer link and we'll happily show you how to pass Australia through.

We will have a payout table on our website by the end of the day. One of the things that has made this somewhat challenging is that we use several different backend solutions, some are per minute and some are per signup. However, I understand the confusion this has caused.

Thanks for the questions!!
-KC
