UBEE router always has unknown device in the DHCP client list ..

The Mac address is D8:5D:E2:XX:XX:XX which is apparently a HonHai device
Didn't they make chips for some home routers back in the day?

I just have my computer and my telephone and yet I always see this mysterious connection in there .. it's a UBEE router from Cox Cable ... I have WPS disabled and changed the password and all of that .. at first I assumed that it was there for voip since I have the cox telephone service, but when I kill that D8:5D:E2 mac ID the telephone still works

I don't think anyone is connecting devices to my router but what is that extra client?

    Looks like HonHai makes UBEE

Ah, maybe they added this, as well
I'm reading that many routers have this port open by default but I actually have a port forwarding rule in mine .. . .

Is that on your WAN (wired) interface? It's probably the MAC address of the other end.

It turned out to be the MAC ID of the modem/router itself. . It's the "RF MAC ID"
