photoshop question

I am wanting to write some text over a image, but I am wanting the text to be "transparent' so all you see is the outline of the text, how can I do this?
Thanks

Yeah, what he said, and put it on a new layer and adjust the opacity to your liking. There are several ways to do it.

Type out your text.

Right Click on the text layer and rasterize it. Then ctrl+click on the text layer to select it. Create a new layer, with the text still selected go to edit:stroke to stroke the selection. Select the stroke color, Location: Center. Click Ok. Then deselect by pressing ctrl+D. Delete the original text layer and you should be set.

Well i did that with with 2 layers, a 3-d font layer and just a regular rectangular image layer. Then adjust the opacity down to the desired level by double clicking each individual layer in your layers pallete and using like a 30% opacity I believe.

Sounds harder than it is. If you can't get it jlmk.

Cheers,
BV
