Paysite.. worth the time and effort opening?

Well school is over for me so time to work 24/7 now.

Was thinking of a few paysites.. but heard that they are a pain to open and a bit expensive.

I was thinking about $5000-$10,000 each, that is a little risky cause what if it doesnt do good?

I was thinking that with a nice layout, ok niche, and good webmaster prog, ppl would join and produce sign ups..

Is that usually the case, or does it take LONG to get some kinda profit flowing?

well, that totally depends on how you decide to push your new sites, but in my experience, the real money doesn't start rolling in until you start retaining a decent percentage of members and getting rebills... after three years now w/ our paysites, even on brutally slow days (today!), we have enough rebills going through that it doesn't matter. if you offer quality content and often update your members area for your members, you have a much better chance to build something that will generate good revenue... don't try to just move volume, rebills are where its at..!

Much easier with the AVS sites right now. Especially if you have submitted to the good ones that have their own traffic and good payouts. All you have to do is ... nothing and the money is coming. Paysites give you headaches, i know that from experience.

5000-10000 is enough to start a paysite. Just be a little patient. People in this business tend to be inpatient and want to be millionairs in 1 month.

get your own traffic first...no sense in investing in a project and relying on other people to make the money for you

don't rely on affiliates in the normal sense - 20% of them will send you traffic and the other 80% well send you zip.

Perhaps look to work some deals with guys who have a lot of exit traffic in the niche you are promoting.

If you have traffic to feed it, then your risk is minimized.

And 20% is really pushing it. Steve, you must have some very niche stuff.

Not many affiliates send a steady flow of traffic. A good chunk of them do the TGP thing and not much more.

You need to have your own traffic available to test things out, such as site conversions and retention. Plus it's a guaranteed 100% cash flow, instead of the 40-50% you'll make relying on affiliates.

There are other extra benefits with having your own traffic as well. You're more free to pimp out your traffic with exits and such.

if you opened a small amateur site maybe 10k would get you by. if you know a cute girl that would split profits 50/50 you could make it work. cash flow could be tight until the rebills start pilling up.

Its better than having a regular plain free site. However, you must prepare for a big initial investment .

That's where I'm going next.. My own paysite.. Right now I'm just playing around with a movie archive to get the feel for owning a paysite.. Getting traffic is easy.. Coming up with something that converts and retains is the trick..

Peace

I started with zero money.

I invested the first 5k I made back into my site...

And now, I am still coasting off that investment.

This business is great because there is no "one" formula for success...

Do something that appeals to you and that you are passionate about...

Then, busting your ass is much easier.

i'd highly recommend operating some high quality avs sites first, before moving into paysites.

I started my paysite by placing small classified ads with the URL in one local paper. Now I have classified ads with the paysite URL in papers everyday all over the nation! You can do it too!

LOL

build an AVS site and try to hold members for the rebill.
if you can't do that, don't try a paysite.
try to hold the surfers for as long as possible ( 3 to 6 months)

So true...it seems people like to signup under your program just for the fun of it. Pretty much the biggest tgp on the net signed under quality dollars, but hasn't sent any traffic. Interesting phenomenon.

I have been around enough to listen when a wise GFY person talks. And since most ppl agree with you on this, I will open a few AVS sites first.

Thanx for all the great feedback guys.

Ill let you know how it goes.
