Really sad that the cradle of democracy have sunk so low...It all started in the 80ties with the war against the "video nasty"... You're absolutely right--one of the things that irritated me to the point of fury was the amount of censorship in the UK, and was one of the (many) reasons I emigrated. It seems to have only gotten worse in the last 30 years.

Just to compare... One of my movies ( back in the 90ties and sold to Blockbuster) had to be heavily edited ( it was fairly soft lesbian vampire movie)... When I have complained to the British board of censors that Pasolini's "Salo 120 days of Sodom" was freely available, I was told that when it comes to art the rules differ.... Art???? Art where kids are forced to eat apples loaded with razor blades, girls' breasts burned off with candles, everybody eats excrement... and other fine "artistic" endeavours ... Fuck me, UK is screwed.... only Paul Markham still lives in a dream, but hey, here we have freedom so he is entitled to his opinions.
