Public health warnings over cannabis have been extremely limited because the drug is illegal in most countries, and there are uncertainties over whether it really contributes to mental illness. But many researchers now believe the evidence for harm is strong enough to issue clear warnings.

?It?s not sensible to wait for absolute proof that cannabis is a component cause of psychosis,? said Sir Robin Murray, professor of psychiatric research at King?s College London. ?There?s already ample evidence to warrant public education around the risks of heavy use of cannabis, particularly the high-potency varieties. For many reasons, we should have public warnings.?

I smoke maybe once every few months. I started a couple years ago after only smoking a couple times my entire life.

When I started a couple years ago and smoked for the first time, about a day later I had a really weird negative mood swing. It was only after a few more times of smoking the following months that I noticed the pattern.

I'm not sure if the pot these days is a lot stronger or what but I know now if I don't taper down, it happens like clockwork about 24 hours later. If I use an edible I have no side effects at all. Strange.

I'd choose edibles over drinking any day.

smoking anything is not good and eating it can really fuck you up if you're not careful. i smoked daily for 20 years and had mostly great times but i would be lying if i said it didn't have some negative impacts in certain parts of my life though its sure as hell much better than drinking every day for 20 years.

People can have bad trips or get really uncomfortable of course especially edibles...here in CA it's regulated and lab testing including dosage information is standard. The days of smoking random flowers from street dealers is over. Has anyone ever died from direct consumption? No.

It's psychoactive, so of course people might trip out. The people and "scientists" who have an issue with it are big pharm and other parties who would suffer if it's more widely accepted

In other news PA has legalized medical use.
