Splitting Forum?

Would it be worth considering splitting this forum into two? One for "fucking around" and the other for "program discussion"? Maybe also filter the "fucking around" forum from new posts search? The amount of bullshit "news" and other assorted slanging matches detract from the useful program discussion threads.

Well the two seem to be polar opposites. Maybe at one time they were more closely aligned but program discussion in this forum now just gets swamped by "save the seal" and "Burger King" threads.

They won't split it for the same reason they won't just weed out the trolls that have zero to do with the industry. They need forum views for the advertising money.

Lots of forums have zones for fucking around or whatever, which is fine and an essential part of an online community imo. However, when that's the predominant search, it'll ultimately fuck up SEO. If that forum were closed to search engines and filtered out of search results, seo would probably improve. Added to which, the posts that actually deal with program discussion would be much more easy to find.

De-indexing and maybe making the fucking around a "members only" section would cut out a lot of the shit that gets posted pretty quickly too.

In fairness, without simple chat, "fucking around", the forum would be slow & for days you would see the same threads on the front page. There are hundreds of viewers here, many do not respond to post, they view. The fucking about, the news threads, the erotic content threads, we all post to make contribution to a lively forum
