Tech Why Don't You Change Your Member's Area Into...

... a mobile app - similar to Netflix or Hulu or... but you get the idea right?

I'm asking for a legit reasons because I actually design, code and publish apps for a living and software development is my bread and butter (some of you probably still remember Tmanager thumb and trade scripts right?).

Let's look at it from this angle - if app distribution has been solved, if you could actually offer app for free from adult app markets (or promote on your tubes) and convert to paid members, if development costs are reasonable, why not?

So if you make a free app - that means you can actually control the user's device - not the boring email but a nice push notification, they (users) get better experience - easier navigation, all UI on the device, no need to download chunky HTML and javascripts, no problems with resolutions and screen sizes and you can still place ads and do upsells.

So, can you please provide me with reasons why you have not done it yet. I'm really curious :-)

Create an HTML5 site for mobile and tablets that you don't have to distribute.

A porn app that you give device permissions to?

I'm surprised you don't know all about this too.

When it comes to Progressive Web Apps, iOS / Apple are lagging far behind. Because, App Store.

Edge may be an issue. That is if Edge really matters ...

              Thanks for the heads up

You never get same snappy response with HTML - even fast and good one, still get the lag while native app is completely different story.

Yes I would give it access if it's nothing crazy, in fact, when you sign up on the web - that's the same thing - they still ask you for name, email, if paid, then card numbers/etc. I see no issues installing on my phone xHamster/etc type of app - would be way better than mobile version anyway.

As for app distribution - there are adult/porn app stores for Android + you can always easily sideload it. A bit harder with iOS, but still can be done.

My thinking is that since the mobile traffic on pretty much any given adult site is way past 50% of all users, it makes sense to get the best out of them and offer something they would enjoy - a good smooth UI, few extra features, normal ads + upsells.

I believe this could actually be "the next step" in the evolution and, since most adult tubes/premium sites has all the content distribution backend, making a good frontend app would be kind of cool :-) Also, one step ahead of competition.

You don't need that, there are plenty other channels available for distribution - starting with own resources (FHG, Mailer, Galleries, Ads on own sites, in members are/etc) and ending up with PPC campaigns like eXo.

How long have you been in the adult industry?
How long have you been dealing with credit card transactions?

By your comments; not long ...

The big problem is that a majority of users in USA use iphone. Apple does not allow adult apps, hence this pretty much makes creating porn apps pointless.

iPhone has the largest market share of any brand in the USA, that does not mean the majority of users are on iPhones. I believe IOS market share in the USA is close to it's highest ever right now, at just over 40%. Android Market share is however close to 55% and has been well above IOS pretty much since it was created.

Here's an idea: let's all do away with, you know, COMPUTERS. Cool?

Let's do EVERYTHING on our tiny little smart phones! What a great idea. I suppose for those insanely horny dudes who feel the need to jack it RIGHT FUCKING NOW I suppose taking your mobile into a bathroom stall and cranking it like a crazed ice weasel for 3 minutes before heading back to that boring cubicle job IS an option...but for how many?

Smart phones are great for jerking off on subway trains, at Starbucks, in movie theaters - basically masturbate ANYWHERE!!

Pfft. I like my big 32 inch monitor so I can REALLY see those clits quiver. You?

desktops have already went the way of the dinosaurs.

people under 30 just use their phones for everything.

                            it's already happened.
