Brits, Aussies, now that war is well underway, has opinon changed in your countries?

Just a couple of weeks ago, 2/3 of Americas only supported miltary action in Iraq ONLY if it was sanctioned by the UN. Now, a clear majority support military action even though the UN didn't authorize force.

I think most Americans believe that whether or not you were initially in support of the War, once it's underway, the troops deserve your support.

I'm wondering if you've experienced a similar phenomenon in the UK or Australia, where a majority once opposed the war but you still committed combat troops.

Its already evident here - with PM John Howards support now up to about 50% on the war issue. The sentiment is as you say, ie really in support of the forces themselves. Almost everyone has a friend or relative in the ADF so....

Well the asshole protestors are still out in force here, "we want to be heard"...

You have been heard, but our own troops are over in Iraq fighting, a protest won't make them pull out or force Blair into calling it off...

Maybe some more people are backing the troops now, but no dramatic change in the amount....

This weekend at Camp Pendleton, just north of San Diego, there was another protest. A support protest. A peaceful protest.

People showing support for the same people that have risked their lives and have seen their friends die in combat.

Streets were not closed. Businesses did not shut down. Workers made it to their place of employment with no troubles.

You see these anti-war protestors think that because they turn out in their thousands that they are majority.

If we were all to have marches for the backing of our troops, I'm sure thousands would turn up for that also. But like I say, why take up the time of the police....

Hi there everyone were watching this thing every minute.... man we're surfing between the major channels on our cable tv watching anything & everything on the Iraq War... the technology of it just spins us out

Here in Australia just talking to people I'd say peoples opinions have changed for sure.... More people are agreeing with this "Lets Bomb The Shit Out Of His Regime" go for it all the coalition forces... get this SOB out of Iraq & put someone in his place, someone with brains & not a one sided view

Good Luck to all the troops
