The Gallery Magic plugin generates standard WordPress galleries, so it adds the images into your WP library, crops the thumbnails etc. Thus all the additional customization can be done directly via the standard WordPress control panel (Settings->Media) and course via your theme settings panel. So it seems to me that GalleryMagic and My Gallery plugins have different purposes.
