LOL man you guys crack me up...some guy in Colorado photographs girls clothed...but some would consider it a bit too seductive is found innocent but yet you still think he should be hung by his balls in the town square.
One guy admittedly rapes a young girl but because he's a "genius," it's all cool. |

I've never expressed any opinion about any guy in Colorado so shut your hole. |

Now my post about talent being the deciding factor when it comes to admiring child rapists it was pointing at you. |
he wouldn't get away unpunished if he stepped foot on US soil. since the crime was committed here, he has to be trialed here.
Polanski is clever enough to know that there is no reason for him to come here. thus - there will be no trial. |

We're not just talking morals here, we're talking about a crime, and a wanted fugitive. |

But that is separate (and irrelevent) to discussion of his talent as a film director. That is my point. |
who in this thread has seen The Pianist?
|
Quote:
not me, but sure as hell am gonna see it.:thumbsup |

He's still a wanted fugitive, not for spouting off political speeches at an awards ceremony, but for drugging and raping a young girl. |
something wrong with society? I think so.

I am not thrilled with what he is charged with. I wasn't there I don't know exactly and neither do any of us here. The award was for directing. The Pianist was a brilliant film. Not an uplifting film, not a cheery 'I have been filled with so much hollywood sacrin my teeth hurt' film but one that almost was painted. One that sapped the energy out of you by the end. One that showed the horrors of situations past but didn't need to have blood spurting all over the place to show that it was evil. A director that could use various shades of grey to paint a picture. A director that got a very good performance out of Brody. If he is guilty, let him go to jail - I won't complain but that does not mean that his film was not the best directed film in that selection. |

Polanski plead guilty and ran when he found out it just wasn't going to go his way. |
well the Oscers are a farse anyway. This year was slightly rare because there were more 'rightful' winners that usual. Even so Chicago for best picture over something like the Pianist or even LOTR is a joke.
If he hadn't even been nominated it would have been wrong on an artistic basis but I could have understood that the academy takes political decissions. However, once it was nominated and in that list it had to win. |
Good movie or not... the guy is still a rapist that had vaginal and anal intercourse with a 13 year old girl after giving her champagne and drugs. Go ahead and read the transcript for yourself. The's a special place in hell for bastards like that.

damn, he fucked her up the ass... sicko
|
I just read the girls grand jury testimony and she says Polanski performed "cuddliness" on her, lol, that is so much cuter than cunnilingus

I refuse to watch the AAs next year. It's getting lamer and stiffer each year, I was truely pleased to see Moore to stir up some shit. all those stiff motherfuckers really need to pull out the dildos out of their asses.
making themselves so fucking important.... jee... |
Well I'm glad Adrien Brody won, I used to hang out with him in NYC and can remember how excited he was when he got a part in Summer of Sam. Now he's the youngest guy to win Best Actor. Fuckin-A!

atleast you don't get the UK coverage. It is weird because they can't show the adverts so everytime there is a comerical break they cut to a studio thing where they talk about what happened since the last break. Jonathan Ross hosts it and I like him but then they have 'hollywood' guest and this year one of them was Linda 'pea soup' Blair. I could have happily bitch slapped her. So luvie...annoying giggle and complained that some of Steve Martin's words weren't 'necessary ' for the ocassion and it was a shame he made them.

oh....but the best comment on the UK coverage was from John Rhys-Davies who plays Treebeard in LOTR. He said 'The Hours' wasn't very good but if you just wanted to go for the 'lesbo action' it was alright.

If it were up to Hollywood and their ilk, Saddam Hussein would receive an award for being a brilliant politician.
An admitted child rapist (Polanski) receives an award. An admitted wife-beater (Eminem) who actually sang about it and profited from it receives an award. What more do you need to turn off the AA and stop treating Hollywood personas as if they're worthy of honor? |
was the best thing about bread and roses too

I love you all... it's ok!

Polanski had sex with 13 years old girl - true
Polanski is guilty - true (that's why he wasn't at the ceremeony cause he ... you know what) Polanski is a very good director - true The Pianist is a good movie (I preffer Schindlers List but The Pianist is still a good movie) - true But why Chicago is better than The Hours? - sad but true and the link of course |

Plus it had Nigel from Eastenders in it and I didn't think more than once that he was being Nigel from Eastenders. |
