Need hardware HELP!

I have a machine that I need repaired, I tried to hit the reset button, it got stuck IN and now the machine will not even turn on...is this a sign that it is DEAD or is there hope for repairing this machine? Is there anyone in the San Fernando Valley who can recommend a place to take this crippled machine to get it looked at/repaired?

try a small pocket knife, see if you can pop it out, if you can don't use it again, the reset button, use power switch

If anything it's the case that's broken, but everything else should be fine...

If it doesn't turn on at all it might be the power supply

I don't know what kind of case you have, but if you open up the case, you may be able to have access to the inside of the front chassis-- And you can pop it back out that way.

I tried to do that...I could not pop back out the thingy that the button usually presses in...does that make sense?

Unplug the reset button from the motherboard. You won't be able to use the button, but at least the computer will stay on.

if its the power supply, it will usually take something else with it.

Find the wires leading from the stuck button and follow them to where they're plugged into the motherboard.
And the end of the wires there should be a connecter.
The connecter should be a little plastic thingy that slides on and off 2 little prongs. The way the button works is it bridges the 2 prongs when it's pressed. Since it's stuck, it's keeping the prongs connected.
Removing the connecter from the 2 little prongs will open the circuit up and keep the computer from it's inability to start.
Hope this helps.
