I never have a problem with Skype.... I get maybe one BS friend request a month, video chat is great. I don't even notice the ads really.

The thing I hate about Skype right now is that the message don't always appeared as read, and when someone calls, the ringing sounds never stops, I have to disconnect

The daily spam connections are a pain for sure.
Otherwise I don't mind Skype. Instant screen sharing is handy.

Also, I like how it works across all my devices.

I'm using a windows client and I haven't seen an ad on skype. What I do see, on the home screen, is a picture an Asian woman and right below it a link to "How to make free voice and video calls".

Within conversations, there's no ads or self promoting links that I can see.

I get perhaps one spam request a month but that's to be expected. I use to get 3-5 per day on MSN and 10 a day on icq.

No issue with the user interface here. It's simple and to the point. The very few times I've used video it has been hot or miss. Sometimes fantastic and sometimes choppy. I rarely use video though so it hasn't really bothered me.

I don't get a lot of spam requests, maybe one every two months. My beef lately has been with not being notified of new messages. This has been a growing nuisance for the last 2 or 3 months.

I think it's gone downhill a bit since MS took it over but it wasn't more than a couple years ago everybody here was on ICQ, so overall it's a big improvement.

I find most problems are when some dumbass is trying to pretend like he's at work when really he's out fucking around on a mobile device with intermittent connectivity and a million other apps running. Desktop to desktop it's great, for mobile I use Viber, beats almost everything else, even sms on a lot of carriers.

I like Skype, I have a hack so I don't get ads, as you said they are annoying as hell, I don't normally use ad block or anything but for Skype I do. I love how I can easily transition from one device to the next and never lose a conversation or what was discussed on different devices.

skype correction can mess the conversation up, but again, that's because of the upgrade.

Windows 7, skype's last version, not the recent, works a treat & has high retention on video when I'm on live cam
