Epoch takes all the risk, manages clients instead of paypal directly, does cs, does everything basically.
Paypal doesn't have to directly associate with porn and they don't have to worry about tarnishing their brand by announcing to the general public they accept porn. they can still get their hands in that sweet porn pie.
I'm assuming epoch got the deal because obviously they're qualified to handle volume, have the infrastructure in place, etc. Who knows maybe ccbill, segpay, etc, had a shot too but couldn't seal the deal :PComment
