Anyone owns or ever owned a Maserati ?

How is it maintenance wise? Shit breaks a lot like Land Rover or else?

I've never owned one, but from what I've seen this is a car where a fair amount of maintenance may be required and parts will be expensive. That's to be expected if you buy an Italian supercar. In general, Italian cars aren't renowned for reliability.

What model are you thinking of buying?

I read an article (On Playboy was it?) that you can buy a used Maserati at a great price....

A quick search on Craiglist locally for me gives me a 2006 with 60k miles on it for $20k.

GranTurismo. Good friend of mine has access to Manheim auctions. One year left on warranty but I'm afraid its going to be another car that comes with monthly visits to dealership. And I know its not cheap ;(

It's going to have Italian Exotica running costs:

What is the reason you're interested? It's a nice looking car and probably fun to drive, but it's not going to be a low maintenance car!!

I only see new ones on the road, that makes me think as they age they are put down to rest.

Lots of Maserati's here in Miami. Mine was 2 years old and still in warranty when I bought it. It's been a solid ride and the only maintenance so far are brake pads and rotors. Fit and finish are as good as any Mercedes or BMW.

Bucket list idea. Plus I can get really good deal at the auction.

I'd avoid Maserati. There's gotta be a reason why they depreciate the way they do...

Depends what you intend to do with it, every day or weekend drive?

For every day drive is a no no , if you plan on using it for like 10 000 km per year then is a great car.

A friend owned one for about 2 years, he had his fair share of problems with it that cost him quite a considerable amount of money. I'm not sure if it was his own doing most of the time or not but yeah the car did have issues. His rear suspension failed twice I believe, cost a lot to repair. He had several issues with windows not working and in general electrics not working.

This was back in 2004-06 and it was a used Maserati so take from that what you will. I love Maserati and am interested in buying one next time I'm looking for a new car but I will do a lot of research first.

I had a 2009 and now have a 2011 GranTurismo Sport. The older ones had some maintenance issues but not the newer ones. Great autos!
