Now that we've debunked one imaginary problem - being the sheer volume of blacks who complain they never met their father or that he has no involvement in their lives, we can address the imaginary 70% single parent homes, the 95% or so of black on black murders and violent crimes, the unreal drop out rates, high chance of going to prison, low chance of going to college and so on. Why only tackle one imaginary problem?
Since the study is biased and includes the caveat "in similar situations" its obviously pure bullshit given the number of black fathers in prison and is in no way reflective of actual numbers and the actual problem
We should do fake studies to debunk every fact until there are no problems at all in LiberalLand!
Can wait until they do a study about how simple minded assholes call others "racist" who simply cite undeniable facts and uncomfortable truths..

I understand why there are so many dead beat dads... If you told me I had to cough up one third of my monthly salary so I can loose my rights as a parent and then allow someone else to raise my child, I would be pissed too.

Try more like 50% since it 30% before taxes.
I know a guy who makes over $120k a year living in his parents basement because he has 2 kids and the x got him good. He told me he has about $400 a week left over after taxes and child support to live on.
Your best bet if you find yourself in a predicament like that is to try to work something out outside of the court. Pay by check and keep everything documented because if you do find yourself in front of a judge and you're a male, chances are you're fucked.Comment

I've seen this from both sides.
Before I got married I was in a two year relationship with a single mom. She dated this loser in high school, hooked up for a night right before graduation, and a few months later she discovered she was knocked up. The best part was she didn't tell him and decided to raise the child on her own. She listed his name once on a form when she was going for government support, and suddenly baby daddy discovered he had a five year old kid. I could only imagine how he felt when he found out he had a five year old daughter.
The guy was a complete loser, and he paid $902 in support. (This was a long time ago, twenty years ago.) I remember the amount because he wrote the checks out "Nine hundred tow dollars" every month, and we laughed. $902 was a lot of money back then, about $1700 now. This money was used to pay the mother's rent.
In return he got to see the child for four hours every other week AND had to pay back five years of support for a child he didn't know existed.

Amen to that! In Florida, it's ridiculously absurd how much it favors the mother. Regardless of the situation, the mother is going to get what she wants 99% of the time. Several years ago I went through an extremely lengthy and costly court battle with my ex over our daughter. I agreed to pay $900 a month in support, she disagreed and we took it to court. Almost a year and a half later, the judge sides with her based on my income "earning potential" -- not what I was currently making, but what I could potentially make.
In 2005 I sold my business and had a nice sum of cash. Her attorney used that as my financials, as well as past tax returns, personal and business, to ascertain that I had to pay a shit load more than anything reasonably acceptable to raise a child. AND on top of that, I got stuck with paying half of all her activities, and she rides horses. New saddle? There goes another $2,000 on top of the ludicrous monthly support payment.
If you need more than $900 a month to raise a child, even while the father assists with clothes, activities, medical, etc., then there's something wrong.
Oh, and I get my daughter a whopping 4 days out of the month. Every other weekend. Yeah, I got fucked ROYALLY.Comment
