I just checked and it is true - The affiliate link is NOT overridden! - I take back what I said before - I should have checked first, sorry Punker...
However, Chaturbate are losing out - If a surfer isn't a referral then the host will get the commission - I can only assume that is a loss that Chaturbate is willing to make to keep the talent happy.....Comment

What about the poor affiliate who actually does refer a customer after he/she has clicked the above model link but choose not to sign up, but only after visiting a legitimate affiliates site changed his mind, signing up by clicking the real affiliates link, but the model gets all the credit as the visitor was lured into clicking what looks like a genuine site button.
Only cookies with referrer as 3rd party site should count, affiliate cookies should not be set if the referrer is chaturbate.com (including short links or redirects that originated from chaturbate.com).
If those models want to be affiliates, all well and good, but let them put in the work like affiliates.Comment

How I see, these links are their own affiliate links, which means, they don't only make money from their own show, but if they refer a new user they will make a commission from that too... Which is completely fine, but
What if someone who gets to chaturbate.com from my affiliate link, simply sees this big "Sign Up" button and clicks it... who gets the credit for this user? Will my affiliate code be overwrited by the models affiliate id, or the new users will still go under me?

... btw... every program can choose to honor first cookie or last. In NATS it is called passive link or active link. Punker replied originally that it was a passive link (i.e. first cookie stays, and then has responded saying it is last cookie). Whatever the tracking system, you can honor either. Those that buy a shit ton of pops would cookie a passive link so their link stands no matter who sent the traffic.Comment

Again, and as I implied here we have here a company that gives a crap about their reputation and sees affiliates and models as disposable, but has not realized that without affiliates and models they would run out of business.

You miss the point, cookies in the real world have a very limited shelf life with many only accepted for no more than that session only. If you can't register a user, e.g. free signup, or make a paid conversion, within that session -- persistent cookies do not matter like they did in 1998 ...

We give that spending to the affiliates benefit as well as our own. Sword cuts both ways usually.
The only way to ensure that you benefit from a conversion is to get a free signup on most cam sites that pay lifetime.
However, I don't allow our models to override cookies from our camsite -- that is not fair to me or our affiliates

If the affiliate cookie is the only means of tracking the referrer then the original affiliate gets credit - I checked by looking at the cookies themselves...
It's hard to say if that's a good or a bad thing considering all the circumstances - For the time being just use a WL - There is no issue then.....Comment

You know you can use any promo tool for your WL , even the embed chat room you need to use the iframe code and you only chage chaturbate.com with yourdomain.com ! You can even use the APIs with your WL is simple ! The main reason sending traffic to the chaturbate not to a WL is because it converts much better than a WL !Comment

After further review I was mistaken. The correct answer to your question is the original affiliate will get credit for the sale. Once a surfer is associated with the affiliate all future sales will be credited to original affiliate regardless of what link they used to purchase.
