I can understand big corp agenda but only to a small extent. Sure every country needs cheap labour force but why not get it through legal means? It cant be that difficult for countries to have work permit quotas etc. for labour jobs.

Immigration from former European Colonies is one. Turkish immigration to Germany after WW2 is another.

Many of the immigrant Turkish guest workers now have children born in Germany and many have chosen German nationality and citizenship. It's only logical for them to want to help the current Syrian Muslim refugees as they share a common history. Much the same as many US Americans wanted the USA to be involved in WW2.
