    Russia and reduced domestic violence penalties: Sexist or REALIST?

    Russia just passed a law reducing penalties for some types of domestic violence Putin signs law reducing punishment for domestic battery - CNN.com

    Do you agree or disagree?

    Please note the following:

    Dubbed the "slapping law," it decriminalizes a first offense of domestic violence that does not seriously injure the person, making it a less serious administrative offense.
    What do you guys think? Is this SEXIST or is it in tune with REALITIES of two people in a relationship getting emotional?

                  Lowering penalties for crime, increases that crime, known fact. That being said I don't think guys are gonna do a "get out of jail free" first beating just for fuck sakes but I'm not Russian. What say the Russians?
