                              It's an alright date movie, but over-hyped. The girl is good, the guy is mis-cast but manages. Certainly not up to Gene Kelly/Fred Astaire levels by a long shot and that includes directors, talent and production. Not sure why it is winning so many awards, must not be too much else worth a crap. Lots of black movies and actors this year at the Academy Awards. White penance from last year. If you really want to go see it, just wait for it on cable. Or better yet get "Singing in the Rain" and chill.
