i've googled this and must not be asking the question right but on a 4 barrel carb, is each barrel dedicated to 2 cylinders (of an 8 cylinder engine)?
Mechanics, a question about how a carburetor works...

No. They will run off 2 barrels until the gas pedal is pushed enough to open the remaining 2. All the fuel gets dumped into the intake in pretty much the same place so there is no way to tell the fuel which cylinder to go to. The intake is designed to try to get even amounts of fuel to each cylinder.
That's what direct fuel injection does..puts it directly into the cylinders. In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator. -

That doesn't sound like the greatest idea.TripleXPrint on Megan Fox

Ever feel a bbq tank as you are grilling and wonder why it's freezing in the middle of summer? The liquid propane absorbs heat as it vaporizes. AC works the same way. A compressor condenses a refrigerant gas into a liquid, as it turns back into a gas it absorbs heat and cools the air passing through itRich"at"rebel-ads.com

Nice example. Was learning about propane refrigerators recently, was curious how they work since they cool by burning propane. The system is clever, the propane flame heats up liquid ammonia in a closed tube system, the ammonia turns to gas and rises up through the tubes, absorbing the heat out of the refer.Ever feel a bbq tank as you are grilling and wonder why it's freezing in the middle of summer?
